How long does a course last?

The majority of courses are 8 weeks in length and start at various points during the calendar year. Classroom courses tend to be one day modules, please check the course description for more information.

When will courses run?

We follow a term structure similar to university terms during which courses will run.

Dates for 2025 are as follows:
Spring: 6th January – 28th March
Summer: 28th April – 6th June
Autumn - 22nd September - 6th June
Between terms there will be breaks during which time teaching is paused but this also allows learners to catch up if necessary.

Do I have to write any essays or do tests?

No, these courses are created so that learners do not have to complete essays and tests to measure their progress. We are much more keen on learners being able to focus on their learning and being able to pursue lines of research or interest as they progress.

What happens if I miss some weeks?

We understand that holidays may be booked or other circumstances arise. Don’t panic if that happens, you can work at your own pace and come back to missed weeks if you need to.

Will I get a certificate?

No, courses are not accredited in any way and do not give learners credit that can be used towards other academic courses.

I’m not based in the UK, can I study your courses?

Yes, as long as you access our online materials. Any live aspects of course will be in the UK timezone though.

How much is a course?

8 week courses are £160. Language courses are longer and prices vary, please refer to the course page for information.

Can I buy a course for someone else?

Of course, when you purchase ensure you put in their email contact details and we will enrol them.

Can I get a hard copy of course materials sent to me?

Yes, there will be an additional charge of £29.50 + postage and packaging to send a hard copy of the online learning material.

What IT equipment do I need to do a course?

A good internet connection and ideally a desktop PC or a laptop so that you can log on to the learning management system that hosts our courses. Speakers or headphones will also be needed to be able to listen to lectures although transcripts will also be provided.

When will new courses be released?

We will email all learners when new courses are being launched.

How many hours a week does a course take up?

Our courses anticipate about one and a half hours study time per week. The courses are supported by additional information and suggested reading lists, which we encourage learners to allocate some time to read and consider as this material as it is relevant to the course and to the group discussions.

Can I get a refund?

Please refer to our terms & conditions.

Can I study more than one course at a time?

While we do not discourage learners from doing so. Please be sure that you are able to manage the workload of more than one course.
